TUNEVERSECYCLE ZERO / FIRST EXECUTION RETURN TO THE HUB ↗
ARCHIVE ENTRY 000 • FIRST EXECUTION / FAILED

CYCLE ZERO.

Before reality held, it burned.

The first attempt at the Cycle. A world of unfinished systems, unstable identities, and a collapse that should have erased everything. Two records survive its story: the fire within—and the residue after.

Two sides of one failure.

One account lives inside the first Cycle. The other follows the world that should have forgotten it.

RECORD A / INTERNAL
THE IGNITION

The Founder’s
Flame

Tune is pulled into an unfamiliar domain where Enigma, early adaptive systems, and a dangerous journey reveal how fragile the first Cycle really is.

THE AFTERIMAGE

The
Anomaly

After the collapse, ordinary routines return. Yet Tune senses a familiar device, Nyx notices inexplicable patterns, and reality begins registering what should not remain.

02 / FAULT STUDY

Why the first Cycle failed.

Choose a fault to inspect the early system. These short notes follow the authoritative Cycle Zero canon spine.

Immature systems

The first Cycle contains early adaptive systems, including the Combat Reader, but they have not developed the stable rules familiar in later cycles.

03 / ANOMALOUS SIGNALS

The signal reconstruction.

Switch between internal, external, and comparative records. This is an illustrative archive interaction—not a literal sensor reading from canon.

Within the first Cycle

Tune's arrival and the emergence of early systems precede the Cycle’s structural failure.

WHAT CHANGES LATER?

Failure comes before stability.

Cycle Zero is not a hidden prehistory. It is the very first attempt. The Founder’s Protocol belongs to a later, stabilized Cycle. The Black Ledger comes after that—when recorded truth can be weaponized.

CYCLE 000 Systems emerge Names and authority are not binding; memory collapses.
LATER CYCLE Systems stabilize The Founder's Protocol belongs here; records can persist.
AFTERMATH Residue survives The Anomaly follows the hard reset.
LEDGER AGE Truth is imposed Recorded names can change reality after stabilization.

These distinctions are the reader-facing structure of the canon spine; they do not mean the characters understand the whole system.

Records that shouldn't survive.

ENTER THE FIRST ATTEMPT

Read it in the order it happened.

Cycle Zero consists of two connected works. Begin inside the initial failure with The Founder’s Flame, then follow its aftermath through The Anomaly. For readers new to the wider franchise, The Founder’s Protocol remains a useful first introduction.
